My love of books started when I was quite young. Luckily I had a mom who read to me every night before bed and helped me kindle that passion. When I was a teenager, my dad had his house completely redecorated by his sisters. In the process, many of my things disappeared, including a box of my favourite books. I was so disappointed that I wouldn't be able to share those books with my own children. I search through thrift stores regularly and some I found on amazon, it's taken years but I've recollected nearly all of my childhood favourites! So, I thought I'd post about my top 10, perhaps other people out there will remember some of these! :)
10. Puppies Need Someone To Love
by P. Mignon Hinds
Illustrated by June Goldsborough
Puppies SO need someone to love! Everyone needs more puppies in their lives.

9. Mr. Lazy
by Roger Hargreaves
I'm sure everyone born after 1980 has their favourite Mr. men or Little Miss book, Mr. Lazy was my favourite when I was little. Cute read.

8. Around the World With the Word Gang
by Anne Civardi and Graham Philpot
A great long book! The word gang consists on a bunch of animals, a frog, a hippo, a monkey, a mouse and many more! Together they travel all around the world visiting the animals that live in those far off places from the north pole to the jungle, they have a great time!

7. The Big Block of Chocolate
by Janet Slater Redhead
Illustrated by Christine Dale
This book is fabulous! Miss Janet buys some chocolate, a big block of chocolate and doesn't plan on sharing! I really loved this book, if you ever spot it, grab it up!

6. Jamberry
by Bruce Degen
This book is a rhyming journey about a boy and a bear and their love of berries! Easy book to find, in fact this is a board book version that has survived two toddlers so far! Highly recommended.

5. Tiggy and the Giant Wave
by Jane Carruth
Illustrated by Tony Hutchings
Tiggy is excited to go to the beach for the first time, unfortunately a big wave knocks her over. As the series indicates however, it's a happy ending book :)

4. Moving Day in Feather Town
by Ann M. Martin
Illustrated by Henry Martin
Emma and Fran are best friends. Fran has grown tired of her bright sunny bedroom, Emma is sick of the big tree blocking the sun from her room. Then the two get the idea to trade houses! Unfortunately they realize their dishes wouldn't match the others' kitchen and want to back out which ends up in a right kerfuffle on moving day. A great book, sadly hard to find though!

3. Frog and Toad Together
by Arnold Lobel
This book is so awesome! I absolutely love it. It's a book with 5 stories, my favourite is entitled 'Cookies' its great for kids of all ages :)

2. Hildilid's Night
by Cheli Duran Ryan
Illustrated by Arnold Lobel
The number two favourite for a reason!! Hildilid lives high in the hills of Hexham and she HATES the night. She tries everything to get rid of the night, she burns it, boils it, tries to feed it to her dog but to no avail. A really fun read and VERY hard to find! Arnold Lobel has worked on so many amazing books, this is just one more of them.

1. Little Monster At Home
by Mercer Mayer
My absolute favourite! I love this book so much! One of the most fun aspects is getting to spot the zipperumpa-zoo on each page! That little guy loves to hide all over the place in Mercer Mayers Little Monster series! In his book, Little Monster tells the reader all about his house, his family and his pet Kerploppus. I posted below about all the other Little Monster books I discovered while looking for this book.

Also, how about some bonus books! I didn't have all these as a child but we have come to absolutely LOVE them!
