For as long as I can remember I've LOVED Lego! I had such an awesome collection as a kid, classic 1980s baseplates, random minifigure parts, trees and lots of sweet ass bricks. One day I came home from school and couldn't find them anywhere. I
asked my mom, she informed me she had given them away! I was heartbroken, but unwilling to make her take them back and disappoint my cousin whom she had given them to. Perhaps I should have though, since I'm STILL talking about it!

Anyway, never will I give away our Lego in my lifetime! As adults, we are now free to hoard as much as we want! We take advantage of the fact we finally have kids to use as excuses for going to the Lego store a few times a month.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not going to try and tell you oil-plastic Lego's are good for the planet, they're totally not. The company is making changes however as you can read about here. It's something at least! They are certainly educational though, fantastic for building those motor skills. Zing!
We started the kids on Duplo, they really

love it, we all do. It's quite the event, DUPLO TIME! Then the big crash as two huge boxes are dumped in the middle of the living room floor. Even as I write there are pieces scattered right across the floor. We made a restaurant this evening, complete with a kitchen, tables, patrons and even a patio section.

My son is 3, his favourites are the trains. We decided to get him this set for the holidays, his one big gift, I cant wait to see his face! Generally gifts from us are either Lego or books, no gifts ever seem to outdo the two! We also bought the latest holiday set, the advent calendar, an ornament and a princess set for Little Sis. Pretty much our whole list done in one shot!
