GRAPE!

Seems simple enough.. And it is! Previous to this, I've always used fresh, frozen or dried fruit to flavour my booch. I've discovered though, that using natural juice is SO much easier and I find the flavour is much better. I buy R.W. Knudsen's organic Grape juice, I fill my bottle about a third with juice, then fill to the very top (I often fill until I spill it on the floor, just to make sure ;p) then cork it and store it for 2-3 days. It's the best! Thanks to my beautiful trip to Vancouver Island this past summer I have stunning pictures of grapes!

This morning, it was brew day once again. The kiddos have been waking up earlier these days as the mornings get darker, just to depress me even more and remind me that summer is definitely over. So 6am they were up and not going back to sleep, so I had to get up too. Boo.

A tip I have for all you brewers out there who use tea bags with strings:

TIE THEM TOGETHER! :] Seems obvious right? Somehow I only JUST thought of doing this!

I'm loving the grape so much I thought I ought to share my discovery today, the kids weren't going to let me at first though, between typing sentences it was "No! Don't pull that honey!" then "Hey! Get down please!" and "What on earth are you doing??" then finally "OkOk! CARTOOOOOONS!!!!!!" I know, I shouldn't use the tv as a babysitter, not very 'crunchy' of me, but honestly, I have NO idea how pre-TV-era moms survived. Mine were up at 6 and it was 9 by the time I flicked on the boob tube, my kids are especially eager and expressive explorers so I think I did pretty good to last that long while trying to cook, clean, brew, bottle and blog!

Happy Brewing!
