March Against Monsanto, Again!

At the very first March against Monsanto, we really woke up. We learned things we previously had NO idea were going on with our food. We have since been committed to eating organic and growing as much of our own food as we can.

This weekend is another chance to show the world that what's been happening is NOT ok. Monsanto and other chemical companies have been holding us hostage. Control the food, control the people, and they're doing just that.

Monsanto was the first to patent life, which never should have happened in the first place. In doing so, they acquired the ability to sue farmers whenever they feel like it.

I remember seeing an explanation for it once that was dead on; imagine your neighbour decides to paint their house blue. You love your crisp clean white house and have no desire to paint it blue. Well, your neighbour goes to work on a particularly windy day and covers their house with bright blue paint, inadvertently however, the blue splatters and splashes all over your white house! So what does your Monsanto neighbour do? You'd think they'd be held responsible for the damage and be forced to fix it, but no! They SUE YOU for using their blue paint!

This is what Monsanto has done and continues to do to farmers all over the world. I could probably go on for days about the issues we face these days but I'll just touch on one other issue briefly. Glyphosate. The main ingredient in Monsanto's number one product, RoundUp. Recently, the WHO has deemed it a probable carcinogen. This is a pretty huge breakthrough against this chemical giant. Monsanto has claimed for years (and still does) that RoundUp is so safe you could drink it and be fine.

This of course, is completely untrue. RoundUp is toxic, Eventually we will get proper data to prove it once the scientific community is not threatened by Monsanto.

Find an event near you and add your voice! We want safe nutritious food! We want total transparency of whats IN our food! We want Monsanto to stop suing small farmers! We want them to stop muzzling scientists! We want our government to stop caving in to corporations! WE WANT ALL THIS RIGHT NOW!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
